Dear One,
If your email is like mine, you are probably receiving messages which seem to be intended to cause ripples of fear. I am writing to you tonight to ask you to let the ripples go. Please don’t hold onto them. Fear, no matter how large and noisy, is dense and has no buoyancy. You – we – are buoyant. We are light.
No matter what has gone wrong, our eyes can rejoice in the new day’s rising sun, our hearts in the burbling of our babies, in the victories of the heart and spirit in every way they come to us.
Everything is needed in the healing of the self and of the world: singing, weeping, caring for our friends and even strangers, writing to our Congresspeople, meditating and praying, the making of powerful art, making casseroles, bringing medicine and support to our wounded brothers and sisters.
Rejoice. Sing. Pray. Hold each other closely and send messages of hope in every way possible. Claim the sweetness that will not melt. Name it. Send it into every space around you and listen for its homecoming.

I believe that while we may want to pay attention to ideas that prompt us to take actions we see as useful, we must focus our awareness and our intentions no matter what actions we take or don’t take on the good that we can do and are doing in our everyday lives, and on the light that we carry. We are lanterns. We need to keep our selves clean so we can transmit the light all around us as we go about our daily lives. I know you know this.
I invite you to spread some light and help create a global force-field of blessing and appreciation. If it’s something that you can embrace, please join me wherever you are on Thursday, October 2 at 3:00PM EST to spread our light together.
The light – the Light – that we open our hearts and minds to, that we offer ourselves as lamps to magnify in our own awareness and to share -- has the power to melt opposition, to break up deposits of darkness and to dissolve psychic and emotional debris.
